SOMETHING BLUE

Last weekend a very dear friend of many years got married and I had the honor of being the best man of the day. Actually, he (and his bride) appointed me the unofficial style consultant and my job started almost immediately several months ago. The couple chose navy and coral as their color theme. Initially, we wanted to explore a different shade of blue, but personally I think the bright blue wedding suit is really played out at this point, so we settled for a simple navy as it is more classic. Oh, I skipped the part where we shopped online and the silhouette of the jackets were unsatisfactory. Anyway, we decided bespoke was the way to go and we traveled for hours to this guru tailor in another state. I negotiated to add the db vest to heighten the power of the look. Enjoy! PS - I think I need to be more prepared  for shoots and of course snap more 'detail' photos.

STREET STYLE: PAJAMAS

Last season or sometime back, I noticed a couple of designers showed what looked like sleepwear on the runway. From Alexander Wang to Burberry. Initially, I thought maybe this was just another design element... piped collar, piped patch pockets and piped sleeves, until it started to take a different turn. Bathrobes and scanty lacy chemises!
You could argue for normal day clothes having some piping, drawstrings and lace here and there, but when the cut is unstructured and the choice of fabric is mostly cotton and silk, then this is simply wearing your nightie out during the day.
What could be more endearing to the fashion forward crowd? Everyone is getting into the trend right now and I must say, they are nailing the look right down. With the right accessories and attitude, anyone bold enough can step out looking comfy and glam in this new trend.

Will you try the pajama trend?
